Flooding causes schools to close in Easton, Redding

Impassable roads forced administrators to close schools in Easton and Redding today.

Heavy rains and snowmelt caused the Saugatuck River to overflow, covering roads and bridges in water.

School officials say buses weren't able to cross certain roads in both towns and were unable to safely pick up students this morning.

The schools won't be able to reopen until the roads around them are passable.

Police are asking residents not to drive over any roads with standing water and to obey all road closure signs.
