Defense begins in DiMeo death penalty hearing

The defense started presenting its case today in the death penalty phase for the man who killed two Fairfield jewelers in 2005.

Christopher DiMeo was convicted last month in the murders of Kim and Tim Donnelly.

DiMeo's friends and family took the stand today in an effort to convince the jury to spare his life.

Arthur Tullberg, who grew up with DiMeo, told the jury of his dysfunctional upbringing. His aunt also spoke about how addiction and abuse were common themes throughout DiMeo's childhood.
