Woodbridge student arrested after high school drug search

One student was arrested today after Woodbridge police officers and five bomb-sniffing dogs searched the Amity Regional High School.

The planned 45-minute search included 2,000 lockers and the school's parking lot.

Police say an 18-year-old from Bethany was arrested after marijuana and several other packaging materials were found in his car.

Superintendent John Brady says the search is an attempt to clean up the school after more and more students have been abusing prescription drugs and 20 others were arrested for selling them.

Officials say the search was conducted while students were in class and no students were physically searched.
