Mom accused of false enrollment retracts improper-search claims

Allegations of improper searching procedures of the Bridgeport woman accused of stealing from the Norwalk School District were retracted today when Norwalk police released the surveillance video.

Tanya McDowell said earlier this week that police officers conducted a cavity search on her after she was arrested.

Officials say McDowell enrolled her son in kindergarten at Brookside Elementary School using a friend?s Norwalk address. She also claims that she is homeless, but police have said she revealed under oath that she lives in Bridgeport.
