State GOP to release budget today

Republican lawmakers are set to unveil details of their state budget proposal today.

Republican lawmakers say their plan does not require a tax increase to cover Connecticut's looming deficit.

Democrats have proposed a plan that raises taxes by $1.5 billion in the next fiscal year.

Also new today, 65 house Democrats reportedly are asking Gov. Malloy to consider raising the income tax rate on the state's wealthiest residents.
