Vandals tag new Fairfield train station
Fairfield police are searching for vandals that tagged the town's newest train station with graffiti.
Officials say they are still cleaning up the Fairfield Metro-North station, located along Kings Highway East near the Bridgeport line.
Neighbors say that the vandalism started six months ago and that they have seen more and more graffiti since then.
The Department of Transportation (DOT) says part of the problem is that while the station is under construction, all of the security measures are not in place, including surveillance cameras, 24-hour staff and random patrols by Metro-North police.
Officials say they will have the station cleaned up by the time it opens this fall.
