Bomb scare at Bridgeport courthouse

Bridgeport police evacuated the Federal Courthouse on Lafayette Boulevard this morning and called in the bomb squad after finding a suspicious package there.

The police bomb squad searched the building and gave the all clear around 10:45 a.m.

The package was discovered by people showing up to get help with their taxes around 7:30 this morning.

Police say the suspicious package was not a bomb and did not pose any kind of danger.
