Time to cast a line as fishing season begins

It's time to cast your line!

The trout fishing season starts tomorrow in Connecticut.

The Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has spent the past month stocking up state parks with trout in preparation.

After a long winter that delayed the stocking process, DEP workers have finally caught up. They've been stocking hundreds of lakes, ponds, and streams with trout.

Although the long winters and excessive snowstorms meant DEP workers got a slow start on stocking, workers say the trout are in excellent condition.

If you are interested in angling this season, the DEP says you will need to buy a $28 fishing license.
