Artwork stolen from New Canaan library

New Canaan police say they are trying to locate a piece of art missing from the New Canaan Public Library.

Police say they are looking for any clues that would lead them to the 9x12-inch painting valued at $2,100.

The pencil- and pen-colored piece is called "tiffani stained glass."

Police say the library noticed it was taken sometime on April 7.

The artist, Isadora Machado, says she was sad to learn what happened and she hopes whoever has it will return it to the library.

The library's director says it is working with the police department on increasing security.
