Police probe body parts found in Fairfield beach

Police in Fairfield blocked off part of a beach today after investigators say someone found body parts in the sand.

Police are not sure whether the body parts, which were found on Southport Beach along Pequot Avenue, are human or if they belong to an animal.

Five police cars cordoned off the area shortly before noon and a cadaver-sniffing dog was brought in to assist the investigation.
