2nd abduction attempt reported in Bridgeport

Bridgeport police are investigating a second report of an attempted abduction this week.

Police say a 12-year-old girl told them a car pulled up to her as she was walking on Maplewood Avenue near Colorado Avenue at around 4:15 p.m. yesterday and asked if she wanted a ride and told her to get in.

They say she refused and ran to a store at the corner of Maplewood and Howard avenues.

Police say she told them she then saw the same car approach an older girl.

Police describe the suspect's car as royal blue with royal blue window tints. They say the girl believes the background color on the license plate was yellow and believes the numbers on the plate may have included "4, 6, 8" with a letter "X" in the combination.

Right now, police say they don't see any connection between a reported abduction attempt of a 14-year-old girl on Monday and this case.

Anyone with information is asked to call Bridgeport police at 203-581-5100.
