Malloy kicks off job tour in Stamford

With the threat of layoffs looming, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy (D-Conn.) kicked off his summer-long job tour in Stamford today.

Malloy says that he is focusing on job creation and retention over the next few months.

There are currently 7,500 state workers who could lose their jobs after the state budget deal failed.

Malloy says he plans to take what he learns from business owners this summer into a special legislative session in the fall that will specifically address making the state more business friendly.
