Stamford sex assault suspect arraigned

Stamford police say a man who had part of his tongue bitten off by a woman he tried to sexually assault was arraigned today.

Police say Gerard Michael Landon, 46, was arrested Friday when he went to get medical help from a doctor.

They say he threw himself at a woman and tried to kiss her.

When he did, police say she bit off a big piece of his tongue.

Officers say they found the tongue at the scene, but doctors were unable to re-attach it.

Landon is being held on $550,000 bond.
