Bridgeport priest: Tornado saved my parish

One year after a tornado devastated parts of Bridgeport, a Catholic priest is thanking the recovery effort for saving his parish.

The leader of St. Charles Borromeo Church on Ogden Street says before the tornado, his spiritual home was in danger of being shut down.

Father Edicson Orozco says his church was slated to close when he began helping the neighborhood after the tornado struck.

He says that prompted a change. "People started coming back in the church and when you have people coming to church you have a way to sustain it."
