Bridgeport business reopens 1 year after tornado

One year after a Category 1 tornado ripped through Bridgeport, Stratford and Trumbull, some businesses say they are finally bouncing back.

Pierre Desruisseaux, a Haitian-born chef who owns Metric Bar and Grill on Cannon Street in Bridgeport, says it was a long and hard road to recovery after the tornado destroyed his livelihood.

Despite extensive damage, Desruisseaux says he didn't have a great insurance policy and had to sink a lot of his own money into repairing his business.

Desruisseaux says he is planning a celebration party this Friday in honor of the reopening.
