Cat rescued from Redding drain pipe

A cat in Redding used one of its nine lives yesterday after getting stuck in a 4-inch wide drain pipe.

Fire officials say the pipe was 7 feet underground and they had to use a backhoe to dig it out.

The cat was taken to a nearby vet and is doing fine today.

Officials say the drain pipe has since been covered up.
