State labor union rejects deal

One state labor union has said no to a deal that's crucial to balancing the state budget.

The union, which represents Judicial Branch employees, has rejected the proposed changes to retirement and health care benefits.

A no vote is a concern to union leaders and to Governor Dannel Malloy because a relatively small number can nix the agreement and force large scale layoffs.

Voting ends next Friday.
