New mountain-lion sighting reported in Fairfield

New sightings of a mountain lion have surfaced in Fairfield this evening.

Police say the most recent sighting was reported near the corner of Redding and Old Academy roads.

They say a woman told them she spotted a mountain lion in the woods as she was driving by. There also have been sightings in Greenwich since the death of a mountain lion in Milford Saturday.

Fairfield police say they're working with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to investigate the latest claim.

The Department of Environmental Protection says there is no evidence of a mountain lion in the area, apart from the one found dead on the Wilbur Cross Parkway in Milford over the weekend.
