DNA tests to determine if multiple mountain lions are on the loose
State officials say DNA tests could soon determine whether there has been more than one mountain lion on the loose in southwestern Connecticut.
Greenwich officials are investigating two new reports of mountain lion sightings. The reports came just a day after a mountain lion was struck and killed by a car in Milford.
Meanwhile, the Department of Environmental Protection says it is investigating the reports, but believes the animal killed in Milford was the same one spotted in Greenwich last week.
State officials say there is no native population of mountain lions in Connecticut, and that they will be seeking criminal charges against any person who may have owned them.
