Brownouts possible today in Connecticut

Utility companies are warning the demand for energy in the state could surge today as people look to beat the heat with fans and air conditioners.

That could mean rolling brownouts for our area.

Officials say people should avoid blasting their air conditioners and should try and conserve power to keep the number of outages down.

They also say don't forget to close your blinds when you're not at home.
