Autopsy conducted on body found in Stamford field

An autopsy was conducted today on a body found in Stamford over the weekend.

Police say a landscaping crew was working in a small field on Highland Road when it made the discovery Saturday.

Candles are still burning from what neighbors say was a vigil held there last night.

Police Lt. Jim Matheny says investigators believe they know the identity and made contact with the family. He also says they will not release a name until it's confirmed by the medical examiner.

Matheny says the person who died was about 20 years old and that there doesn't appear to be any foul play involved with the death.
