Young Fairfield sailor rescued from LI Sound

A young Fairfield sailor is safely back on shore tonight after being stranded on the Long Island Sound for nearly four hours.

Matthew Thompson had to be rescued by Bridgeport?s Marine Unit this morning, after strong winds took out part of his 16-foot sailboat.

Thompson, 20, says he made it to buoy six off Bridgeport Harbor, eventually catching a ferry captain's eye.
