Stamford to attempt world record for CPR training

Stamford officials announced today that they are planning on breaking a world record for training the most people to do CPR in a single day.

Officials made the announcement at the Stamford Government Center and more than 150 people showed up to hear the city's plans to hold the event this fall.

Currently, the record is held by Mexico, which trained 65,000 people in a single day. Stamford hopes to top that by training 7,000-10,000 people at several locations throughout the city. The event will be a joint effort with Stamford EMS and Stamford Hospital.
