Gov. Malloy tours storm damage in southwestern CT
Gov. Dannel Malloy (D-Conn.) visited southwestern Connecticut today to get a first-hand view of the damage Hurricane Irene left behind.
On his tour, the governor made stops in Fairfield and Stamford, where he spoke with residents about relief efforts. He also thanked workers at the Emergency Operation Center in Bridgeport for their response to the storm.
Malloy says the state will seek federal funding to help pay for costs associated with Irene. He is asking all residents and town officials to document the damage as quickly as possible.
