9/11 CT Remembers: Photography project in honor of Sept. 11

A local photographer is debuting his decade-long project in honor of Sept. 11 at the Capitol building in Hartford next month.

After witnessing the terror attacks from the Connecticut shoreline, Darien resident Robert Carley says he was inspired to travel the country and capture the rejuvenation of the American spirit.

Carley says the American flag quickly became the focus of his project. He traveled across the country taking photos of Americans and their flags. From beginning to end, he says he has seen the American flag freed from its pole, representing the nation in all kinds of forms.

Carley's photos will be on display at the Capitol for the entire month of September.
