Drivers fined for trespassing in Norwalk parking lot

Norwalk police say they issued 79 tickets for trespassing to a group of drivers who have been allegedly drag racing in the parking lot of a Walmart store.

Officers say they got a call from the manager of the Walmart on Main Avenue that about 80 cars were driving about in the parking lot.

Police say this has been going on throughout the summer, and last night was the last straw.

Those who were ticketed say it is just a weekly car meet, and that they weren't causing any problems.

Norwalk police say they've been to the parking lot a couple times this summer to break up the crowd and warn them not to come back. They say they hope the $92 tickets they handed out finally convince the drivers to stay away.
