Elderly man critical following Darien train crash

The 92-year-old Stamford man who was hurt when a train hit his car in Darien remains in critical condition.

Richard Scalise's car was on the tracks yesterday when when a 9:36 train from New Canaan was passing by Camp Avenue and struck the front end of his car.

MTA police say the warning barrier came down when the train was approaching.

Metro-North says none of the 48 passengers on the train were hurt and the driver was given a fine.
