State workers approve concessions deal

State employee unions today announced that state employees have approved a labor savings and concessions deal.

The agreement is expected to stop thousands of layoffs and additional cuts to the state budget.

Gov. Dannel Malloy (D-Conn.) says the agreement not only closes the current budget deficit, but creates long-term savings for the state.

Malloy says he will start rescinding layoffs as quickly as possible.
