Search is on for driver in fatal Bridgeport hit-and-run

Bridgeport police say they are looking for a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident on Pine Street near Wordin Avenue over the weekend.

Police say the victim was headed southbound on I-95 at around 1 a.m. on Saturday when he pulled off the highway because of car trouble.

They say the driver of a black Lexus hit and killed the man as he got out of his car.

A spokesman for the police department says the driver eventually ditched the Lexus 3 miles away at Connecticut Avenue and Waterman Street and fled on foot.

Police are urging anyone with information on the case to call 203-581-5201.
