Quick thinking saves man on burning yacht

An off-duty Westport police captain and his friend are being credited with saving a man from a burning yacht on the Long Island Sound.

Westport Police Capt. Sam Arciola and his friend Don Saunders, of Norwalk, say they were out fishing Saturday night when the engine of the 47-foot Meridian yacht caught fire and burst into flames.

The men raced over to the yacht and saved the boat's captain, who had dropped off six people a few minutes earlier.
