Game over for Milford arcade

After 25 years of providing games and fun to local kids and teens, a Milford arcade recently closed its doors for good.

Michael Getlan, the owner of Smiles Entertainment on Post Road, says today's gamers prefer to stay home and play Xbox, PlayStation or Wii.

Getlan says to bring smiles to today's generation would have taken a tremendous investment.

Paisan's Pizza, located next door, estimates its sales have taken a 50-percent hit since Smiles shuttered. The pizzeria's owner says his eatery had a symbiotic relationship with the arcade.
