Police: Driver in Stamford cafe crash could face charges

Ten people were injured when a car crashed through the front of a cafe in Stamford yesterday and police now say the elderly driver is expected to face charges.

According to Stamford police, 92-year-old Samuel Leighton accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake when he drove his car through the front of the OoLaLa Cafe at the Ridgeway Shopping Plaza.

Among those injured included an infant and a pregnant woman, and the driver himself. While all of the victims are expected to fully recover, Leighton is expected to face charges due to the seriousness of the crash.
