Police make arrest in fatal Stratford shooting

Police say they have arrested a Bridgeport man in connection with the murder of a Stratford man shot in cold blood on his girlfriend's front porch just over a week ago.

Jose Rivera, 24, went before a judge today on a series of charges after police say he was involved in the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Noel Gonzalez.

Police would not say specifically what led them to arrest Rivera, but say that witnesses identified in surveillance pictures helped lead them to the suspect.

Gonzalez's family says it has been coming to the place where he was killed nearly every day, hoping and praying for justice in the case.

Rivera is being held on $1 million bond. Police say they are still looking for other suspects in connection with the crime.
