Stamford native killed in Afghanistan

A Stamford native was among the Navy SEALs killed over the weekend in Afghanistan.

Brian Bill was a 1997 graduate of Trinity Catholic High School.

School officials say he loved God and his country, and was incredibly passionate about being a part of the SEALs.

Bill's mother, stepfather and father put out a statement saying "We are heartbroken in our loss. Brian was a remarkably gifted, thoughtful and compassionate young man. We are incredibly proud of him. He loved life. He loved a challenge. We mourn his life of unfulfilled dreams."

A total of 30 U.S troops were killed when their helicopter was shot down on Saturday.
