Norwalk officer target of possible racially motivated vandalism

Norwalk police say that one of their officers has been the target of racially motivated vandalism.

The department says it's investigating an incident in which somebody tried to light a car on fire at the home of a veteran officer who is African-American.

Police say on Saturday night, a rag was stuffed into the gas tank of a 2001 Chevy Malibu and lit on fire.

The fire department was able to quickly put the fire out, but say it is still not clear who was behind it.

Authorities say this wasn't the first time the home has been targeted and there have been a few instances at the home over the last month.
