Family offers reward in hit-and-run case

The family of a hit-and-run victim in Bridgeport is offering a reward for information that will help police track down the driver.

News 12 Connecticut spoke to the victim, Sidney Wilson. He says he was riding his motorcycle down Catherine Street Monday evening. He says as he entered the intersection with Washington Street, he saw a car speeding toward him.

Wilson says he slammed on the brakes and slowed down enough to avoid what he thought could've been a deadly collision. He says instead, the car ran the red light and he hit the vehicle's front passenger side.

Wilson says the car slowed down briefly before speeding away.

He ended up with a broken ankle. While he recovers, his family is offering a $500 reward for information.

Anyone with information is asked to call Bridgeport police at 203-576-8126.
