No charges expected for driver who hit pedestrian

Stamford police say it's likely that they won't charge the driver of a vehicle involved in an accident that sent a man to the hospital with severe injuries.

Police say the driver of the vehicle did not see 22-year-old Carlos Ordonez when he crossed illegally near the corner of Franklin and Broad streets Friday night. They say Ordonez was not using the crosswalk when he was struck.

Residents who live and work in the area say that while Ordonez may have been illegally crossing, many drivers at the intersection are not cautious of pedestrians.

Ordonez is listed in stable condition at Stamford Hospital
