Stamford remembers 9/11 first responders

Stamford's emergency responders coordinated a remembrance ceremony at Cove Island Park today to honor the nine local residents who died Sept. 11, and those who work to keep everyone safe.

Officials also unveiled a new memorial at the Government Center, which was made from a piece of steel from the World Trade Center.

Mayor Mike Pavia is asking everyone in Stamford to observe a national moment of remembrance Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. as first responders sound their sirens and churches ring their bells.
