Bridgeport to pay $3 million to settle lawsuit

A judge has ordered the city of Bridgeport to pay more than $3 million to the family of victims of a fatal accident.

Essie Williams, 76, and her daughter Gwendolyn Little, 58, were killed when their car was hit by a fire truck in July 2007.

The judge ruled that the firefighters were not looking at oncoming traffic as the truck sped through an intersection.
