Report: Finch's campaign contributions questioned

A new report claims Bridgeport Mayor Bill Finch raised thousands of dollars for his re-election campaign from sources that are banned from donating to state officials.

An investigation by the Connecticut Post claims Finch accepted donations from municipal workers, including the city's police and fire chiefs.

State law bans people in those positions from donating to people running for state office, however there is no rule concerning local races.

Finch defeated Mary-Jane Foster in September to win his party's nomination for a second term.
