NBC Sports moves to Stamford

Gov. Dannel Malloy (D-Conn.) announced today what many had speculated for more than a week: NBC Sports is taking over the 32-acre property that used to house the Clairol Plant on Blachley Road in Stamford.

Malloy explained that NBC Sports was lured to Connecticut because of the so-called, "First Five Program," which offers large businesses major tax credits and incentives to move to or expand in the state.

The $100 million project will bring at least 450 jobs to the area. Construction on the site will begin next September, officials reported. NBC Sports coming to Stamford
