Embattled Greenwich principal returns to work

A middle school principal from Greenwich who had been on paid administrative leave returned to work today.

Students at Central Middle School walked out of class Tuesday, urging the district to re-instate principal Shelley Somers.

Somers was put on leave after a news article surfaced claiming she left a child unattended while running a day care center in the 1990s, something she had apparently not revealed on her resume.

The interim superintendent released a letter yesterday saying an investigation did not find any evidence that contradicted what Somers told them about the incident.
