Scrap metal business accused of having stolen scrap

A man connected to a scrap metal business in Bridgeport was arrested today and charged with having stolen scraps at his store.Eastern Scrap Metals on Knowlton Street was swarming with investigators this morning, neighbors say. A spokesperson for the city confirmed that Bridgeport police have arrested a man connected to Eastern Scrap Metals, although it remains unclear if he is the owner.The suspect has been charged with possessing stolen scrap metal and violating the city's scrap metal statute.Investigators have not yet said where they believe the scrap metal was allegedly stolen from.
