Darien police ask public to help stop burglary spree
Police in Darien are asking the public to help find those responsible for a recent string of burglaries. Police say all of the robberies have occurred in the town's northern suburbs, with two happening in the last three months and one happening over the weekend. They say the suspects have taken an interesting approach to breaking in, using ladders to cut holes in walls and roofs. The latest robbery happened on Inwood Road, and News 12 Connecticut has learned that more than $15,000 in jewelry and electronics were stolen. "It's pretty frightening, if you want to know the truth," says neighbor Carolyn McGrath. "Last night, I left the lights on." Police say similar burglaries have also happened in Stamford, Westport and Fairfield. Anyone with information is urged to call Darien police at 203-662-5300.
