Federal officials probing Greenwich gas leak

Federal investigators are looking into a construction accident in Greenwich that caused 20-foot flames to shoot into the air.

A deputy fire chief says a crew was working on a driveway that is connected to six houses on Gilliam Road when the surface gave way and a heavy machine broke a 2-inch gas line.

Nearby intersections were closed while the gas company shut off their lines.
