College student allegedly raped at fraternity house
Danbury residents say they're fired up and frustrated after a college student says she was raped at a local fraternity house.
Police say it happened at the Tau Kappa Epsilon house on Deer Hill Avenue over the weekend. University officials say they didn't know the fraternity had a house and the city has now served the landlord a cease-and-desist order.
Police and Western Connecticut University spokesperson Paul Steinmentz say the rape victim is an 18-year-old freshman.
University officials say that when arrests are made, if students were involved, they could face a judicial hearing on campus. Both university officials and police say they are continuing to look into what happened.
