Norwalk officials launch parking meter payment app

Norwalk officials have released a new cell phone program that will allow drivers to wirelessly feed city parking meters. The program, an app called Park-Mobile, is available for iPhones and other smartphone devices. Drivers can enter their credit card and license plate information online and then pay the meter accordingly. The app will also notify drivers when their meter is 15 minutes from running out.At a public demonstration this afternoon, Norwalk Mayor Dick Moccia said the program is a necessary upgrade to the current parking system. "It can save a lot of aggravation and a lot of appeals on tickets," Moccia said. The Norwalk Parking Authority has more information on how to register.Norwalk Parking Authority
