Alleged Stratford paint vandal appears in court

A Stratford man who allegedly vandalized residents' cars with paint thinner appeared in court earlier today. Officials say the suspect, Michael Andrukevich, 49, is accused of pouring paint thinner on more than 40 vehicles over a two-week span. They say he would toss the chemicals on neighbors' cars and then move onto his next victim. Police say they caught Andrukevich while he was driving on his moped, and that they confiscated chemicals and other forms of evidence. People in the area said they had no prior problems with the suspect, and that the accusations came as a shock. "We heard it was going around," one resident said. "But we didn't expect it to happen to us." The judge set bond at $3,500.Accused Stratford vandal due in courtCar vandalism suspect arrestedStratford vandals damage cars with acid
