Police: Milford man led officers on manhunt after attempted robbery

Police say a Milford man is under arrest after he tried to burglarize a camper and led police on a manhunt.

Officials say they received a call about the attempted robbery and were warned that the suspect was potentially armed.

Once police arrived, they say James Edwards, 22, climbed out of the camper's roof and ran into a marsh.

Helicopters flew low to the marsh and the canine units were used to eventually apprehend Edwards.

Edwards was hospitalized for treatment of a pre-existing medical condition and for bites from the canine units, police say.
