Black Rock residents set to gather to crack down on crime

The residents of Bridgeport?s Black Rock community are coming together tonight to fight against crime during National Crime Prevention month.

Police say that overall crime in the area is lower than in past years. However, several violent crimes recently, such as a string of armed robberies and a dog that was shot to death, have given the community a sense of uneasiness once again.

Both police and residents are determined to work together to protect their streets. Officials are urging community members to be extra ?eyes and ears? and to step forward to help.
